Nervous or Not

Image
So I usually get nervous in the car to the point that I don’t stick my nose out when the window is down. And I am a big scaredy cat. For instance when my human took me for a walk last night I almost jumped head first into a fire hydrant when the wind blew a piece of trash straight towards me. Oh, and the trash truck and street sweeper, don’t even get me started. But, yesterday after the rain cleared out and the sun was shining, my human took me back to the park. After chasing a ball a few times and sniffing more butts than I can remember, he put my car window down. And all the way back my ears were flapping in the breeze. I even got a hamburger from McDonalds. I was wore out last night.

The Kitchen Floor

Anyone who knows me knows I do not like slick floors. Well the kitchen has a slick floor. The kitchen is where my food and water bowls are. My human, Guy, had to move his Afghan war rug to the entrance of the kitchen so I could stretch in and drink water and eat my food.

First Snow

Today was my first snow in Annapolis. My human, Guy, had a snow day for work which made me happy. He says I am doing really good on walks. I even sit while he puts my harness on. Sometimes he even just lets me lead because I am getting to know where to go and the area. He also said I am getting really good at following his commands. I also know if I am good on a walk I get a treat afterwards.

First Full Day in Annapolis

So today was my first full day in Annapolis. Unfortunately my human had to go to work. When we woke up we went on our first walk of the day and I did my business (1 & 2) in my favorite location for that kinda thing - right inside the Naval Academy’s Barry Gate. We went out one more time before my human left for work. Today my human left me in my crate, which I did NOT want to go in. He said when he got home that he planned to get a baby gate and keep me in the guest bedroom. When he got home he put my new name tags on my vest and we went for a walk. Then we went and registered me at my new Vet Clinic and then back to Quiet Waters where I ran around with a new group of dogs.

Arrival in Annapolis

My human stopped by Quiet Waters Dog Park so I could run around with local dogs for a little good old fashioned butt sniffing. I particularly enjoyed sniffing Aria, a 3 legged chocolate lab. We then went to the apartment where I tried to acquainte myself with the place. I found the bed to be a good vantage point to look out and see what was happening outside. Then my human took me for a walk down along the Dock. There were some strange smells near the boats and I was really wanting to jump into the to the water and swim with the ducks. Afterwards I was getting nervous when my human would go back out to the car to bring stuff in. So, I have made my hangout under the dining table.

Introduction

My name is Cotton. I just moved to Annapolis, Maryland with my human (Guy). He likes to refer to me as “dogtard” cause I am pretty goofy, for example I can’t just wag my tail, I have to twerk my whole butt. I had to leave my favorite human (Kelly) behind in Tennessee so this move will probably take some adjustment. It was a long two day trip for me. The first day I was too nervous to sleep in the car. But the second day I was able to get a few naps in. And the first night I slept really good in the hotel.
